Preface: This is a 'minimal' spell. meaning it's the very 'least' that needs to be done in order to channel arcane energy into your life. Two things: one: Technically, only a Taoist master can 'write' runes to be used in these spells/ and two: I'm withholding the actual Chinese phrases and substituting them for English ones because Taoist magic is almost entirely about your 'intent'. So long as you are casting your spells with full intent you will be fine. If you cast a spell with mal-intent then you will bring bad luck upon your home and everyone you intend the spell to reach. In order for this spell to work, you MUST be alone. Also, I'm running on knowledge from a Taoist Sorcerer I met at an Asian store strip mall in Dallas + my own research into Taoist magic.
CASTING A TAOIST SPELL OF PROSPERITY
The following are instructions on how to cast a Taoist spell of fortune and prosperity. Taoist magic revolves around petitioning arcane energies to enter into your life and enchant and bless the objects and processes that you use daily. The spell is split into 5 distinct parts. 1) preparing your objects and intentions 2) setting up and opening your altar 3) preparing your object for enchantment 4) casting the spell and 5) closing your altar.
note: you need to be standing to complete this spell's somatic components.
1) Prepare your altar, objects, and intentions you will need the following items:
1 clean table to place these objects on
1 large bowl, place it above the center of the table and fill it with uncooked rice or sand.
1 small bowl, place it below the large bowl, but still above the center of the table and fill it with uncooked rice or sand.
1 small bowl to place burning trash, put on left hand side of table
1 cone incense 2 groups of long stick incense (one group of 3, and one group of 9(
2 candles, place on either side of large bowl
1 bell, place anywhere within reach1 wooden piece to use as a drum, place on right hand side of table
1 item to use as a drum stick, place anywhere within reach
1 small cup of purified water (like a teacup)
1 object that you wish to imbue with Toaist power (this object can be anything that you intend to carry with you for a long period of time. a button, a pen, your glasses, etc. / if you'd like to cast the spell of prosperity for a group of people, then chose an object you feel represents that group of people)
(you may also print these instructions out and keep them close by to reference from, this does not affect the spell)
you will then need to create an 'intention' or 'invocation'. This is a phrase that you will repeat over and over again throughout the casting of the spell. example phrase "please grant prosperity"
1 Fulu. a small piece of easily burnable paper. on your own time, write the intention of your spell on this paper.
2) Opening your Altar to channel arcane energy in preparation for casting the spell, you must perform a small ritual to invite good spirits into your presence.
step 1. take your group of 3 long incense into your hand and wave it over the entire table.
step 2. light the incense, then use the incense to light both candles
step 3. stomp four times, wait 1 second, then stomp two more times (equalling a total of seven stomps)
step 4. bow once
step 5. trace your forehead with the bottom of the long incense three times.
step 6. bow once.
step 7. place each of your incense one at a time into the back of the large bowl and let it burn.
step 8. INTRODUCTION OF SOMATIC COMPONENTS: make a fist with both of your hands. raise the middle and index fingers of both hands so that you are pointing with two fingers. this is called 'sword fingers'. place your right 'sword fingers' into the palm of your left 'sword hand' and firmly grasp with your thumb, ring, and pinky fingers. this is called 'double sword hand' Touch the center of your forehead with your double sword hand then bring the double sword hand to your heart. Make a springing motion from your heart towards the altar three times. each time, petition the spirits for your spell to be successful.
step 9. ring the small bell for three seconds.
In doing this, your table is no longer a table, but an altar for Taoist magic.
3) Enchanting your object
step 1. place your object in the middle of the table.
step 2. take your group of nine long incense, light them all at the same time using the left hand candle.
step 3. hold this group of incense with both hands in front of your heart.
step 4. stomp seven times.
step 5. bow three times.
step 6. hold the base of the long incense to your forehead three times with your eyes closed.
step 7. repeat your invocation.
step 8. in ONE BUNDLE, place the incense in the front section of your large bowl.
step 9. take your Fulu and place it on the center of the table.
step 10. clap once.
step 11. stomp three times.
step 12. make 'double sword hand' and place the base of your hands on your forehead so that your fingers shoot out. Then quickly move your hands from your forehead and touch the piece of paper.
step 13. take the piece of paper with your left hand and wave it over your large bowl in a clockwise motion three times while stomping with your left foot once.
step 14. raise the paper as high as you can into the air, then place it back on the center of the table next to the object you wish to enchant.
Step 15. Take your cone incense, touch it to your heart, then light the cone incense with the right hand candle.
step 16. wave the cone incense three times in a clockwise motion over your bowl.
step 17. wave the cone incense three times in a clockwise motion over your paper, finish with a dotting motion over the paper once.
step 18. place the cone incense into the middle of your small bowl.
4) Casting the spell
step 1. rasp on your drum as loud as you can while repeating your intentions out loud for 20 slow beats.
step 2. make a sword hand with your right hand, then place it onto your heart, repeating your intention once more.
step 3. point and stomp at the cone incense. MAGIC IS NOW FLOWING. TAKE EXTRA CARE
step 4. wave your Fulu clockwise three times over your cone incense.
step 5. wave your Fulu clockwise three times over your object.
step 6. fold the fulu in half twice, then set it on fire with the left hand candle.
step 7. quickly wave the fulu clockwise three times over your object, then place it into your 'trash bowl'.
step 8. pick up your object, wave it clockwise three times over your trash bowl to absorb any remaining magic.
step 9. place the object back in the center of your table.
step 10. clap once.
step 11. stomp once.
step 12. raise double sword hand to your head once more, then 'shoot' your intentions into the object
step 13. pick up cup of water.
step 14. stomp five times.
step 15. dip right index and middle finger into the water.
step 16. with your fingers in the water, stomp twice.
step 17. wave the cup of water three times clockwise, then three times counterclockwise over your big bowl. (stick incense)
step 18. then three times clockwise and three times counterclockwise over your small bowl (cone incense)
step 19. sip water and spit it forecefully over your object while stomping once.
step 20. raise water cup in left hand, retrieve droplets of water from cup with your right hand and flick water three times onto your object. then place the water aside.
step 21. point at your object and yell at it forecefully.
step 22. continue to point at the object and stomp three times with your left foot.
step 23. wave the object over your large bowl three times clockwise.
step 24. raise object to your head and bow three times.
THE OBJECT IS NOW IMBUED WITH POWER
5) closing your altar
step 1. blow out your candles.
step 2. allow your incense to burn out
step 3. clean table.
